Troubleshooting

Follow the guidelines below to test and troubleshoot the installation in the

event a problem occurs.

Note

If you change the speed or duplex mode of a port on the converter

using the DIP switches, you must power OFF and then power ON

the unit to activate the change.

If the PWR LED is OFF, do the following:

 If the converter is installed on a desktop, check to be sure that the

power adapter is securely connected to a power outlet and that

the power adapter cable is securely connected to the back of the

converter.

 If the converter is installed in an AT-MCR12 chassis, check that

the unit is fully seated in the slot and the retaining screw is

securely fastened.

 Verify that the power outlet has power by connecting another

device to it.

 Try using another power adapter.

If the LNK/ACT LED for the twisted pair port is OFF, do the following:

 Check that the end-node connected to the port is powered ON

and is operating properly.

 Check that the twisted pair cable is securely connected to the

twisted pair port on the converter and on the end-node.

 Check that the end-nodes connected to the switch are operating

in the same duplex mode.

 Make sure that the twisted pair cable does not exceed 100

meters (328 feet) and that you are using a Category 3 or better
